Must get this off my chest before I forget. The Japanese bimbo again. The minute she gets started about the place my department HQ is in, she must put it down like it's some god damn place that is somewhat just abit better than Sahara desert. While I don't think it's happening or what, but it definitely is a livable and self sufficient place, where you can get most of the stores you need within accessible distances.
She likes to say she hails from 横浜. But to be exact, the area that is more advanced is just the city centre. If you live in the wider region (where according to her, she's not even near the sea), I don't think it's any better than any other place. There would probably be no difference right? In fact, going to Shinjuku from Omiya uses less time compared to coming from her home.
I think she's a nice lady usually. But one thing i dislikes most about her is that if something doesn't suit her, she'll put it down and trample it under her feet, to the extent that thing would mean nothing to the listener. Not very elegant way of putting things across right? I'm fine with it if you could stop dropping heavy hints about you being a very proper lady with much more grace and is above the rest. I've seen real ladies and they do much better.
Maybe the next time she does it, I should join in and say "Oh yeah man!! Such a disgusting place, I can't believe such a place actually exist in Japan... how could they allow it??? But come to think of it, the areas outside of the main city could be worse.... Oh yuck..." *face of disgust*.

I.will.survive
Can't wait to get out of here! 1.5 days left! Yay!!!!
Been all over the places the last week. Mad week. By Sun, I felt so happy surviving it, especially when I was doubtful by mid week how I will pull through.
Mon: Evening meeting with the oldies in Japan, Sweden & US (yuck!)
Tue: Mad rush at work and arrived late for shopping with Joy. Got my mask for the Xmas party.
Wed: Health screening in the morning. Got a bag with my Sis for Mom's bdae.... This one was abit shy of trashing SIL's LV... Sis got herself one too.... =| Oh and finally got Geek's GF1! Cost me a whipping 1k though.... boooohooooooohoooooooooooooo..............
Thu: JCS Grad Ceremony. Even more crazy coz got out of office late so hitched a ride from colleague to Killiney Road area.. mistake! Walked down and had to wait so long for the bus to Carlton Hotel and ended up slightly late.. Luckily they didn't strike off my name from the presentation of cert, as they did for some late comers... Had a good talk with some of the classmates I never even said Hi to before ahahahaha
Fri: Company Xmas Party. Everyone started getting abit high and doing all sorts of funny things as the night progressed. Took pix with the better looking ones but haha... realised too that I've run out of sparks for Ah Beng. Went off for girls only drinks to celebrate Shimazu san's farewell..... late.................
Sat: Rushed down to get Zhen's 2nd Xmas prezzie from Starbucks! 1st was Flickr Pro =) Good thing it was the tumbler she wanted, happy =)) Biz Jap class was getting tougher haha must buck up! Then to Taka to get Gong's Xmas prez, nice, she likes it too! NYAB reunion at Gong's house was great =))) Was a happy happy soul that day, in short.

Sun: Family lunch to celebrate Mom's bdae at Tung Lok Jurong. Big booboo coz Dad told Grandma her maid won't come coz the car is packed. Ended up SIL brought hers. So had to get Sis to go back bring Grandma's maid to appease her. Ended up being 1.5h late for lunch.... hahahaha... and we ordered so much food and made so many funny mistakes the waiter was making fun of us from the middle of the meal until he sent us out.... =P
Oh did i say? The dress I wanted from rakuten that ran out of stock was back! and i made sure i grabbed it first min! Got one for sis too heee.... all my loots started arriving at Geek's place, and since it's a small pigeon hole, he had to clean up his place to accommodate all my boxes hahaha...
Japan on hol today hee... so... abit eng... but i have 101 things to finish b4 flying off, including my self assessment.... don't do means i'm screwing up the rest of the time im here.
Did abit of packing already. But I know there's still so much more to go.

Overspending
Alrite... this is a continuation to my previous post....
Been overspending lately, very apparently & shamelessly. If I recount when it all started, it must have been when I was out with Zhen & Gong at ION, after Zhen's paper... I only got a skirt that day, but it spun out of control from then on.
The following week, went shopping with Zhen. Bought 2 skirts, 3 pairs of shoes, and some other things I can't really remember..... And the next weekend, when I was just trying to kill 2h coz was let stranded in Orchard without a class to go to, I got myself 2 cardis.... Just last weekend, got myself a muffler (which I have not much chance of using), and a bag....
Net shopping haven't been accounted for yet =| 1 pair of boots, 1 pair of pumps, 1 down coat and a dress.... and of course, the Geek's camera which is not cheap at all...........
My pocket is so badly burnt opppsss.....
That's not even taking into consideration the money I've spent for the dental surgery (not sure if i can get reimbursement fr medisave), school fees stuck at Bunka waiting to be refunded, and for all those pigging out sessions.... and alot of pigging out sessions to go for! Fancl stuffs to stock up, and also alot of things for others which I have paid for first -_-"
I think I'll live a frugal holiday this Xmas =)

Happiness in the post
Found this in the mail box today =)
Hee so glad to receive it.... not trying to sound boastful or what, but i didnt feel i wont pass the exams or what... it's just that receiving this invite marks the end of one part (in many) of my journey through learning the language...
And no, as I mentioned before, I wont be signing up for their FA class anymore... =) So far so good at Bunka!

Boss just said something very sick to me on Skype.... I think for everything he's said to me (and I've got them in my history files) so far, I can sue him for sexual harassment until his pants drop.....
Nice, i likes.

And I mean it...
Was trying very hard not to get the VPN installed into my personal PC at home, coz it would mean the end of me. But I couldn't help it today coz I got so frustrated with all the weird happenings, I must take a look at them myself.Ended up sitting in front of the PC all day (had planned to get a 4h nap since I slept at 5am today). Even had a few phone calls with my engineers, and with the GMC people to negotiate for some screwed up schedule.
Bad, bad... really bad. I MUST NOT check mail for work this Dec hol. Shall tell the staff to try not to contact me, and help myself from replying to mails sent to the mobile. Remind me ok? But of course, I'm here to check mails to get stuffs fr Japan, and check out fb, cafe world, and bejeweled heee....
I'm so sleepy........ i think it has finally kicked in................
My Weekend
Been busy lately... busy resting heee... having a good rest, doing things i wanted to do, especially coz its the weekends!! Spent a good deal of time with the girls and mom.... Feels good =)
Was also watching this, but feeling its kinda outdated so stopped halfway... dont think i wanna end up crying buckets, leaving the girls looking puzzled.

Net Shopping
Browsed through pages of Rakuten and decided on some of the things I wanted to get before reaching Japan... And this dress I wanted to get (just saw it this afternoon) suddenly became out of stock when I checked it just now?! Whats happening? I ended up flaring up abit (my bad, i know) and the Geek said theres a high possibility they will bring in new stock so cross fingers and toes.. anyway there's still tonnes of stuffs that I'm going to get, mostly big items which are definitely going to burn a big hole in my pocket... spending the AWS way before it reaches my hands haha.... not forgetting the SLR for Geek's bdae.... T_T
Holiday plans are almost set! Just left with deciding who to invite for the lunch (that beautiful with beautiful scenery and food), and when to go!
Tooth & Me
Think the wound is almost done, healed. Still abit to go, coz the gum is still slightly swollen, and the stitches are there. Wanna visit the dentist on Tue to take the stitches off. Even though the nurse said it will go away by itself in a month so there's no need to, but I still feel kinda weird with that foreign object in my gums... Ewww....
The swelling has gone down by alot. I told Clara it went from a Dou Sha Bao (those big ones) to a Cha Siew Bao... Actually, I dont mind if my cheeks can remain this way, slightly wider than it is now, provided both sides are equal and minus the swollen feeling... Wanted to ask the Geek which side of the face he prefers, but I wont know what to do if he really said he prefer the side with swelling............ One other way is to eat more and put on meat at the cheeks hee... my sis and bro said, "Hamster" when they first heard of the swelling.........
Japanese Class
Paid up for the advanced Japanese class on Sat, and was asking the people what to do for replacement classes.. turned out that there's not replacements for advanced and biz jap classes........................ I cant be missing 2 out of 16 classes without replacements right?? Immediately asked to retract my application to join the class, so was left with about 2h (and $300, which is going to be refunded in 2 weeks time) to burn... so went SHOPPING again hee... bought myself 2 cargdis (i know i have too many, but cant help!!) and a skirt heee... very happy with my purchases, though i ended up being slightly late for class... so paiseh!
Class was very difficult.. the sensei didnt give any face to anyone and spoke at super duper bullet train speed. Could tell some people were very solid and went on and on very fluently (even tho accent sounded kinda weird), while some totally caught no ball. The sensei told one of the student to role play a scene whereby shes the subordinate and the student, superior, was scolding his subordinate. The guy sat there, and asked the sensei "怒るということは何ですか?”....... so could see the wide discrepancy between standards.... but definitely the people are better than those back in JCS Advanced II class...
Sensei was super cool and funny... apparently she's one of the most respected teacher (by students and other senseis), prob one of the founders, and also the course coordinator.... The jokes she dished out were darn evil lah, but very funny... and she shaved all her hair, save for a small tail at the back.... did i say she looks at least 50?
Class was difficult, but so enjoyable and i think i learnt and will learn alot... So must work hard!!!
Oki back to more net shopping!!!
Tml's gonna be a day working from home, and also trying to catch up on abit of 敬語 before i start to falter heee..... Kim's coming tml too!! And what else? I hope to do up my cafe abit, but wanna do it when I have a good idea leh.... one of the engineer commented "I wont wanna eat in your cafe in real life!"... hahaha me too!

僕の彼女はサイボーグ
Just finished watching this show... So so, not too bad, not too fantastic either. Only good thing about this show was that the Cyborg in the show was really pretty =)I think I must be bored.......... Watching movies/dramas alone always give me a weird feeling.... made me feel lonelier than I feel originally..... ahhh.... Maybe its not such a bad thing to stay away from work, I just need to get better so that I can go out and relax abit... ALONE?
Thank god there's still friends who are not working or working on weird shifts!
On MC
I thought Im supposed to be on MC, resting at home? I imagined myself to have tonnes of time watching drama, reading books, doing what I've always wanted to do leisurely...
Ended up checking and replying to smses and emails. Very very sick and disgusting. Tried not to do it, but the thought of my team mates being bombarded by those sickening people made my blood boil. Even if you tried to work at your deathbed, the management wont care. Hahaha...
My left cheek has swelled up so much, resulting in a very wide face which I dont approve of. Now I know wide faces are not suitable for me (since Ive always wondered).... It doesnt hurt, but i think i look disgusting, with that bun protruding out...
Going for Japanese classes (Advanced & Biz Jap) tml... how to survive that 3h with a bun, that might turn blue black? =(
Anyway I wish that things can go back to normal... the swelling subside, me going back to work (and finishing up those idiots), seeing Ah Beng in office hahaha.... and of cos, the end of yr trip that I'm so looking forward to! Alrite, shall promise myself not to check emails for this trip!!
------------------------------
Update: Just called up the dental clinic and spoke to the doc... he said its normal for the swelling to come the most 24-48h after the surgery... gave me lotsa advices, very nice... i hope he's not just smoking me... keep on monitoring....

Running low on BengOxide
Not being able to spot ah beng is causing alot of boredom at work. I got sleepier (refuse to admit it's got anything to do with the spoilt coffee machine) by the minute. Some people believe that you yawn because there isnt enough oxygen in the blood. Im convinced mine's due to a lack of beng oxide. Beng O2.
I'm beginning to hope that HR wasn't right afterall.... coz if not, I will be yawning away like mad for the rest of next week.... boohooo...

Gan Cheong.
Super gan cheong, about the wisdom tooth extraction tml =(
I think I heard too much, even if I was an unwilling party. Colleagues were very enthusiastic on handling out experiences and advices, while Mom was going on and going about everything related to it (simply coz she was more gan cheong then myself).
My only source of assurance is from the Geek now. Even though the entire process wasnt too pleasant for him, he knew to leave out the bloody details.
Mom said that she heard that a human's blood flows fastest at noon time, so having an op during that time would mean losing more blood than usual. That's why people usually dont have ops during lunch hours (not coz they wanna have their lunch???). Not sure if it's true, but I know that people lose more blood when they are anxious. I feel like a dog chasing my tail in circles.
Had the interview with the Bunka teacher, like FINALLY. She's really one awfully busy and forgetful lady. Anyways after that, she ended up asking me which course (advanced or biz jap) I wanna take. I thought she was supposed to advise me?! I told her I would prefer biz jap but it would depend largely on how she thinks. She mentioned that it would be tough for the first few lessons if I were to jump to biz jap, but advanced class focus on casual+formal japanese (it's different from biz japanese), so it wont meet my needs too.
I'm thinking, if I should take up both. I want to keep on improving until I feel comfortable enough opening my mouth saying what I mean. Im tired of being stuck at this level, where I can speak casually but nothing beyond that means there's not practical use except during dates. Some ladies even use formal japanese with the guy's family. One good thing about having both the classes start at this same time is that the 2 classes are back to back, with 15mins break in btw. That would also mean I'll prob burn out by the end of it. There's an advanced class starting in late Dec, but it's a morn class so meaning I'll have a few hours to kill in btw..... Hmmm.....
And I'm sick of going to and fro to the GM (like some big hoohaa) to get my training forms signed just coz i happen to be her direct report. So if it's decided, will get biz japanese paid by company, and advanced class self sponsored.
Remb the bulb incident? The GM's boss (some director) was so pissed by the entire episode that I read his pretty harsh email to the GA ladies... I know he's worried about his life, the documents in office, not being to pass audits, etc... but i think if the bulb decides to kill itself, there's really nothing anyone can do about it. Thankfully he didnt accuse me of staring at the bulb causing its death. In fact, he was pretty concerned about whether I was going to die from it, I hope he's not too disappointed. Anyway, I think the real reason behind is because there's a X Men in the office.
One of the new staff who turned up for work the next day looks like this. Actually, it's just her hair, I wish though, she's as pretty but somehow...

Let's imagine there's this one person whom may not be the closest to you, but it's just someone you admire so much, have absolute respect for, and you have complete faith that he/she wont do anything against his/her conscience. Have you ever thought what should happen if this same person turned out to be a villain? I dont know for what reason I started pondering over it, but I've been trying very hard to imagine, until I gave up. Prob because I've put my trust in the right people so far, or simply that I haven't been trusting people enough.
Kimmy is coming over tml!!! Havent seen the sweetheart for awhile, miss her to bits!! Amazing how much a kid can learn and grow in just a week! =)

。。。。 Oh~my~gosh!

Wedding Card
Got this card for Gary, the good friend of my ex, whom hit off pretty well with me and he ended up joining my gang for our grad trip in Aussie. Very nice guy I would say. He finally got hitched, to his long time gf, Evania, who is extremely sweet.
Think its the first wedding card I bought (sharing not counted) for my friends.... Couldnt help but got this for them when I saw how cute it was! Gonna be there for their church wedding, that's if I recover from my wisdom tooth extraction in time.... and I was actually looking forward to attending it =( booohooo....

疲れたね!
broke my personal record by working till 120am. major screw up for one of the proj and my developer had to rush out the corrections, while my QA wss on a long urgent leave coz of his newborn was sick... so i ended up helping out to QA the fw, but there was a steep learning curve since the product wasnt one of those common ones. QA Japan were very helpful in screwing us up further too. But i must say i think ive got a good engineer here, who's at least willing to work hard and is capable enough. Must find some way to promote him in front of HR and big bosses next time! With people like these, i actually dont mind staying back as much as the ex MC King who screws up at EVERY-SINGLE-CHANCE.
thank god we managed to finish it anyhow.
Ah Beng was so darn cute today, in fact, every single day. Starting to enjoy chorei v much with him standing beside me every morn! *blissful look* haha... and he came by a few times today so we all had a look time oogling at him! Shiok! And my meetings for today took place at his side too, so good! My colleague said she saw him looking over my side. Maybe he thought he saw an eye peering at him, an eye on my fringe hahahaha...
Didnt manage to do the telephone interview with the japanese instructor coz she mixed up the time and didnt call while i waited.. she called when i was in a mtg, and when i called her back aft dat, shes gone for her class... not a bad thg tho coz i wasnt done with revision anyway...
Geek was terrible. He called me just once before heading home today, and then simply went MIA after he login to his PC at home... grrrrrrr
im so tired im so blur, i just wanna take a shower and concuss into my bed.

For Ah Beng
Was listening to my ipod on the way to work today, and found that i have 2 songs pretty ah beng-ish haha....
I almost laughed out (in office) when he used the hammer to hit the heads of the other ah bengs haha...
I think he dances like a duck, but besides that, 蕭敬騰 oozes tonnes of cute ah beng-ness. =P

感動した!
Something today really lifted my entire mood.
The R&D GM called for a teleconference meeting with me today, with just his 'secretary' to take down notes (not minutes). I was wondering what the agenda was, but apparently they didnt wanna make it very clear, but just said there's nothing much I have to prepare for.
Turned out that he was told by the company president and vice president to check out how I'm managing and if there's some issues, he should be looking out for me. It all happened last week when I was in the pantry when their meeting ended. The president actually came over to my desk to find out how I've been doing, but since I wasn't around, I only knew about it later when my team members told me. To be very frank, I felt abit of 受宠若惊. Not trying to be yaya but I dont find the president taking of notice of much people at manager level, not to mention I'm just at AM. Or prob he's just too worried that I've been messing around with his overseas R&D hahaha....
Anyway, and so he left. But on his way out, I bumped into him and the vice pres outside the pantry. They went "シューピンさん!” (stretched out hand for a handshake) "元気?大丈夫?"... I gave them my hand and replied very reluctantly "はい、大丈夫です~~~”, looking very un-元気. They looked at each other and asked again "本当?大丈夫ですか?”... Obviously I dont look ok, but I wasnt about to start a bitching session about all my frustrations and the stupidity we face everyday, right at the pantry entrance right? And so I said "Yes.......". Apparently they werent convinced.
And so that's why the meeting session with R&D head today. I told him very straightforward about the problems with the processes that's working against my team, R&D as a whole, and eventually the whole organisation. I think he understood. Gave some advices and ordered his 'secretary' to carry out some of the actions he agreed to do for me.
He went on to more personnel issues, like team motivation and stuffs. One thing I was pretty pleasantly surprised with was that he asked if my team has the Niitera seal (this seal with a cartoon of u in it). I told him a colleague gave it to me as a personal gift and only people who liaise mostly with outsiders have it. He then asked me to send the pix of all the team members to his own (not secretary!) email, and he'll have it made for us out of his own pocket. "プレゼント". I wasnt so much eyeing the seal (esp since I already have it) but felt pretty touched by his small actions. Thing is we're not supposed to tell other sections though, else everyone will start crying out why only this particular team from R&D has it. Well, no use crying foul coz if we want to, we can be whining all day round.
We also talked about declining team morale coz of the heavy workload and jobs that come in back to back, leaving no space in btw to breathe and think about what they have done. He probably understood some things.
Think managed the meeting quite well, with like 95% in Japanese. He seemed pretty impressed with the fact that I could understand and hold a proper conversation with him. All the more im motivated to work harder in my Japanese. That reminds me, telephone interview this Thur!
I would continue to work hard, to do my best in managing and improving the team. All these while I'm still here, before I decide to call it a day. I never said I'll be here forever.

Random things that happened to me today.
My nephew (yes i do remb i have 1 nephew) slept in my arms today, coz his mom was out and mine had to bring Kim back home. So she drove me, Kim, the 2 crazy girls and the boy to Kim's home to meet my sis. The baby boy was crying and screaming out for a long long while before I finally cooed him to sleep.... lullaby-ing him. Couldnt believe myself. Found out when I went home that I had a wet slimy shoulder from his tear and mucus. Ewwwwww!!!
Bumped into the ah beng at the pantry today. *blush* we shared some little talk while the cappuccino machine was working hard at churning out the milk for him and my cappuccino. But then the OL came in and started asking him some insane question that took her to repeat it 5 times before he understood what she was asking. I left the both of them there haha..... But gosh, he reeeeeeally look good closeup, with his shy ah beng smile *think jay chou looking innocent* and nice fair skin. Im so officially smittened.
I have just decided that my cappuccino time shall be at 8.15 every morning.
Been busy cooking away in Cafe World these days. I know I'm so hopeless hahaha....

Growing
It suddenly occurred to me that I've mellowed down alot in the past 2 years, eversince I took on this position. When some things happened around me, I was aware of the fact that if it was 1-2 years back, I won't have behave the way I behaved now. Essentially, I'm not as impulsive as I would have been, and I remind myself (very very consciously) to take things in my stride, and not to flare up so easily. Probably this position doesn't allow me to act the way I want to, or it's forcing me to do things the way the working society expects. Or perhaps, I've come to realise my actions might cause much unhappiness/pain/inconvenience to others, who might even be suffering in silence.
Depending on how you view it, it can be a very man-made or natural change. Conversely, it can be a good or bad thing.
Anyways, it's the hard cold fact.

Fed up
Wonder when these people can stop bothering me so I can really sit down and do my work. Must I lock myself up in a room where they don't expect me to be? If I cant concentrate on my stuffs, mabbe im better off surfing net leisurely all day, so that at least i don't have to look at them with an annoyed glare whenever they interrupt me.
Boss was asking me 1000 (stupid) questions of which 500 I've answered him at least once. On top of it, he asked me to send him 100 things, 99 which were repeat requests. Got super fed up and went on skype (for the last one), "I thought I just sent it last Friday???", and started to ignore him. He waited for awhile and called up one of the engineers directly, and bombarded that guy with more questions. When he put down the phone, he was v amazed at the stupidity the boss was exhibiting. I'm glad it's not just me thinking so.
Fed up. Very very fed up recently with everything, coz it's all so screwed up and the people with the power to act are turning a blind eye to things.
Come come!! All come and get me! RRRROOOOAAARRRRR!!!
7pm meeting again later. Just let me be home soon.

Single eyelids

Been very much into 蕭敬騰 recently. I first noticed him when he sang that duet with Ah Mei, and I didn't really like him coz he sounded really husky and looked blah. But recently, I heard this song by him, and got hooked... started listening to more of his songs... Was just stoning ard the living room ytd and my grandma was watching 百万大歌星 where he was in the show (for the 3rd time i think). I think his boyish looks, shy smile and powerful voice grow onto me, and I was addicted to him.
And then I realised that I'm very much into guys with fair complexion and single eyelids. I can't remember all of them but most of the male artistes I like are more or less of this appearance. Including the new Japanese colleague.Throw in the height of around 1.7m as well hahaha.... Anyways, I took a closer look at his photos and realised that he has double eyelids, just not so visible. I thought that it might be the same for the other artistes I'm into, and decided that I'm into single-eyelid-wannabe guys, coz single eyelids are so to die for hee..
Don't know why I'm typing this when I'm supposed to be mugging. =|
Feel myself cringing under all the pressure and neverending issues from work.

Lousy Lunch
At lunch now. The people mixed up my order again. This time round, they gave my hor fun to someone b4 me and my colleague. And so my colleague got hers, while I was left waiting. Asked them about it and they actually asked me to wait, and got the kitchen to get 1 more out. No apologies, nothing. And a few more orders were brought out. Got so fed up and told them to cancel my order. Good thing coz while waiting, I remb that I had wanted to take salad today. Please boycott them, if you ever land up having to lunch here (pathetic).
Oral ytd was so so. Prepared a pretty good set of answers but apparently I blanked out abit and had to repeat one of the questions. Anyways, don't think there's any prob with passing, just how badly.
Finally met up with ZP after another long period of time. He's a jobless man now, and I cant help feeling so envious.... =( Good that we managed to catch up and update each other about our recent happenings.
Can't believe the next holiday is still so far away. Feel like dying already. We're not going Kansai area anymore I think, coz there's way too many places and things we want to go and do area Tokyo area. Hmmm.... still quite alot to plan.... With the exam out of the way, I can start planning for (not just the trip but) a whole load of things, and do things that I'd wanted to =))
My company has this system whereby all staff have to submit all kinds of ideas related to the biz every week. Japanese staff do it everyday. Recently, the mgmt decided functional heads have to start submitting everyday, and I happen to fall under this group. Week before the last, I submitted for the wrong week, and ended up I have to make up for 2 weeks of submission by Friday. I have no idea how, but I did it, coming up with 10 ideas that don't sound too crappy! I still have 4 to go for this week. Painful.....

Spooky Cab
Worked till pretty late ytd and ended up calling a cab back, with the 2 jokers who somehow have neverending difficulties solving their issues. When I decided it was time to go (we were already the last people) and asked them to call for cabs, one of them used the office line and got the cab pretty soon. I then dialed up using the office phone to help get one too, but hang up soon when I heard the location was wrong. Didnt even press the key to confirm the location.
I tried again using my own hp, but the first thing I heard when the line got through was "You have a booking for taxi number X.X.X.X.....". Then the 3 of us just stood there, not knowing what to say. They know that this was the first time I called in, and how I got a cab even before I dialed in, we don't know. Best part is, when I told them the number, one of the guy remb it's the number of the cab he booked through the office phone..... Spooky... But the driver seemed pretty normal, and I got home in 1 piece. =|
And I was supposed to be home early to hug Buddha's legs. But ended up staying up so late. Because my subordinates screwed things up several times, and they stayed back to rectify the many problems. It also meant I had to stay back and watch them do it, in case they screw it up again. Tried studying in office but it wasnt very helpful coz i had to check and go thru their stuffs several times. Exasperated. Don't know how long I can hang on to this craps.
I dont really have anything against the people since people do make mistakes, and as long as they improve and take effort not to repeat it, I'm fine. It's the system I have a problem with. Don't understand we have this system whereby the superior must take care of their staff like their own children, and monitor them so closely. If im so obsessed with micromanagement of babies, i wld have gotten myself half a dozen whom i can brainwash from young.
The thing is also, people usually DO repeat their mistakes. And somehow, they make me feel like they don't feel their mistakes are grave enough to cause problems for other people/sections. I let them off to go back and rest yesterday. Told him to come in at 7.30am-8am today. While I reached on the dot at 7.30am, he had the cheek to come in late at 8.15am. Even asked me "But you said 8am last night??". I'm glad he remb I said 8am, not 8.15am. What's wrong with these people? Still give me the double "??" in his sms, like there's nothing wrong.... If we're dealing with people who are not obsessed with time, I dont actually mind it so much. But if it's the Japanese in my company, and when we told them we'll send it over at 9am, you can be sure they will be waiting for it at 8.55am.
I want to be on time, in leaving office today.
None shall stop me! 谁敢拦我???
P/S: Feel like putting a hundred 'Work' label for this post... too bad blogger only allows it once..... been in the mood to do things excessively recently, like click on the 'Like' button on fb many times (but they only allow it to show once too), tagging a picture with the my friend's name all over her baby coz they look so alike.... ok i know im reaching my limit....

Bad Start
Bad start to the day. Got a call from the irritating Prata guy first thing in the morning (before work starts!!) asking me to change something on my presentation. When I asked if he has confirmed w my boss if it's ok to change, he said he hasnt. Then I wont do as he said, else later prata me again how? He went on and on trying to convince me, but refused to take his reasons in. Very bad hor, but that's coz i learned my lesson.
One of my engineer used a wrong method to check for something, and ended up giving me wrong info. Sigh not that I mind, but we found out when the info has been spread to other teams (via Prata guy) so it's kinda late. Must make corrections and apologize etc etc... super ma fan...
One email I sent to that Prata guy (in Japan) was forwarded to another guy in another department (in Japan), and then forwarded back to this other guy in that department (in Singapore). I received 3 copies of the email containing the same info. And I could have just sent it to that guy in Singapore, if not for the kind of 'centralized control' here. Talk about efficiency! Such things happen everyday, every second. Probably coz there isnt enough trust among individual, teams and within the organization as a whole. Very draining for its people, isnt it?
The only good thing was that I bumped into the cute guy in the pantry in the morning, ensuring us some minutes alone. Muahaha very sick of me to imagine so. And he stood beside me during Chorei today (and from today onwards too I would think) so could hear his low voice very clearly. My highlight of the day starts early everyday from now on hahaha.......
Ok off to prepare for presentation!

The Wedding
Hee realised I forgot to mention anything about the wedding, so here I am!
Was in formal wear on Monday, and the Japanese lady asked if there's a wedding recep. I said yeap, and changed topic quickly. She then commented "Woah it must be really tiring to have a Monday wedding recep for normal people isnt it?". *Cold sweat* I ignored that comment and went on to the topic of me forgetting to bring the Anecan for her. She wanted it to show her hairstylist Ebichan's latest hairdo. Like... huh.....
Tagged along with this GM for the wedding, so we were quite very late. But Chinese dinner started late, as usual. We didnt even see the wedding photos, but from what I heard, and what I saw from the montage, they werent great.
The table I was with was pretty fun hee... mainly the ladies from Operation sides, who were the fun people of the company... and I realised I was the only one from technical side. In fact, besides this other guy who is the groom's buddy (and emcee) and a SM (all managers and above received invites), I was the only one from the side of my office. Must be very honored huh? But no leh.
I went home feeling it was the first (and hopefully only) dinner that I couldnt feel happiness brimming from me. Sigh. Vowed not to force myself to go for another wedding if I dont feel like it. I like the groom, it's just the other half, and everything just didnt feel right.
Did I mention that the services at Meritus Mandarin are really bad? I wasnt expecting very high standards, but not so bad either! Tsktsk!
Oh, and Google Japan is finally back to normal after the Sesame Street Birthday Fiesta.

Good start
hi. =)
Had a good start to the exams today. Since it was the 作文/レポート paper, i didnt have alot to study except for the report i got the Geek to correct for me (missed the submission deadline totally). Took down some 接続詞 (not good at what these ~ 詞 are called in English coz i nv bothered!) from the web and read thru them but ended up not using most of it.
Dont sound good isnt it? The best has yet to come i tell u! There were 2 questions to choose from, and i got so excited after seeing qn2 that i dived straight into it. It was asking for opinions on whether ppl who sleep in late should morph into early wakers *早起的鸟儿*, or feel theres absolutely nothing with waking up late. Hahahaha what a godsend! I could have written pages and pages abt this topic if i want, in English. If u dont know, its sth ive been campaigning for, and ive been embedding such ideas into my report to mgmt fr time to time. Except for the small glitches that caused words to go missing (was nearly dozing off) and me scrampering to correct them at the last min, everything including word count went well hehe...
Dont ask me abt the other qn coz i didnt even wanna spend time finish reading it, so i dont have any impression at all. Yes i admit. Im that disgusting.

Work went alrite today too. Got to finish more than what i intended to but the meeting towards the end of the day was dragging on forever, i had my colleagues go off first since their pp is an hr earlier. Finally the other party understood our pt and we were able to give them what they needed, i was let out of the room not-too-late but with a half sulky face. Dont like it when ppl dun prepare for meetings b4 hand and waste everyones time. Remb this maniac econs teacher who alwiz go "wasting 1 min equates to wasting X mins, where X is the no of parties involved". Such practical but wise words. I like. This meeting also mean another step my team is taking to improve and get involved. So i was pretty glad to do it, despite having to handle more ppl who cant think well enuff.
Since i arrived at Bugis alone and had abt an hour and half to spare b4 the pp started, i headed to Teadot with the intentions of studying. Ended up playing games on my iPhone to keep awake instead. Had their Earl Grey Latte but it was pretty blah... supposedly to be quite good tho, or maybe i tried the wrong stuff. Nvm will give it another chance since i have 3 more pps to go, and they dont really have any crowds usually so it was a pretty conducive env for napping studying...

The Geek told mi sth v political abt my boss suggesting a proposal that might have very negative effects on my team. But I doubt it. He's a bad guy, but not evil. Whatmore, my team doing badly would mean pulling him down too. I hope the Geek is just hearing one side of the story.... Anyway, would do myself good by staying away further from these politics...
Another dreadful meetimg tml, so stressed thinking i ll be walking out of the room with arrows and daggers all over my body. Or worse still, 躺着出来. -.-

海外 vs 国内
Hmm they have been very conveniently assigning things to my team, as long as something belongs to the overseas market. If the request comes from overseas, it's in my basket. If the product is an overseas model, it finds its way here too. And if the domestic model is modified by some chance, my team will have to do it too.
Has anyone realised that the size of my team here is less than a quarter of their well-fed people over there? And taking into consideration we love our lives and don't want to do OT that often, I have no idea how sustainable everything is. Everytime I try to talk about it, they will turn it into a non-issue (their way of ensuring peace and harmony, maybe?). Ahahaha I'm not going to be the one to stay in this company forever anyway. It's up to you guys.
Sometimes it's better not to see/notice things that people refuse to admit.

A cute (ok, hmm, I'll explain later) guy doing sales came from HQ today, and will be working in the Asia Pac office (just a wall away). The ladies in the room were blowing silent wolf whistles wildly (including the 2 new mommies beside me). I didn't feel he was really good looking when he intro-ed himself in the morning meeting, like hmm, fair and Korean looking (imagine slanted slit eyes). Has many elements of evil in him, I said to the mom beside me. But she was like "No lor, he's very 美 lor! Tall and good looking. Only thing is his hair (which made him much taller than he actually is(... I think hor he should........", and she went on to give out some hairstyle advices heee.... I was pretty impressed with his English though.
When HR brought him over to each of the functional heads for intro, I could see him really closed up when we were shaking hands. Hmmm I changed my view of him. Give him 1 thumb up. Doesn’t look so evil from here, and actually quite good looking, I would say. He’s got a nice mid-low voice too (very important!), when he said “(his surname)… ahh just call me Kenji.”. Salesmen are all of 1 dangerous species.
I’m half smitten already.
*Thrusts the image of the other Koizumi (old) looking sales manager away*
Waiting for the other half to take place =P

I'm kinda.... going bonkers.

Met up with Gong and Zhen again ytd! Good to have the girls around, we can pig out non stop.. Gong brought us to Jams at Prologue and the very nice lady over there was so enthusiastically introducing to us the fruits of her labour haha... even said "Go on, just order whatever you want and dont care how the others may look or think!". Agree. But hor, the more we order, the more she reaps ma. Of cos she'll say so hee... anyways, no regrets with our order... had the shortcake, chocolate brownie and blueberry muffin... so very yummy! And Zhen's sandwich smelt good too! Will be back definitely! Was thinking of popping by on Tuesday (company hol) since it wont be crowded... shall see!
Got a jacket and work skirt from Lver too! With Gong around, there was hardly any problem chalking up a bill of $450 to get the 25% discount... in fact, i calculated, it was a grand total of $770 before discount. Shopping with her means I can be less guilty with purchases hahahaha.....
Max's wedding tml. I dedicated 3 songs to this guy.
1) 結果咧 (大嘴巴) -> his buddy was the one who went on and on abt this
2) One More Day (Les Mis)
3) Always Look on the Bright Side of Life (Monty Python)
Abit looking forward to the dinner tml haha... and that reminds me, gotta charge my cam for the nite!

Giving
I remember once I was told by a friend (a pretty loooong time back) that I'm the kind of person who can give alot to any relationship if it is mutual. I agreed, and I still believe in it. Basically because I dont want to be taken for granted.
I'll be frank and admit I'm not the kind to give endlessly and hope for nothing in return.

Climbing up
Dad's back for the weekend, like finally. Can't remember anymore when was the last time I saw him. Anyway, was just casually saying that since Mom won't go with him to Kobe for Yugo's wedding, why not I quit my job and go with him? Can help to entertain the clients too heee... His first reaction was "huh cannot la, i still want u to work for at least 2 more years!". But why???
The Geek wasn't too keen in me quitting before getting a new job. Why not??? =( Has everyone become so hopeful about me up higher the corporate ladder so much so that, to them, I should not be quitting anytime soon? Are they worrying about finances if i shall stay jobless and wander around for some time? =((( But I'm really tired and feel like everyday's a drag. Not trying to sound like a whiny brat..... why do they not understand? I know I can be quite stubborn at times, making my working life abit less comfy as some sweetie pies in office. But I definitely do not think I deserve those kinds of attitudes coming from these people. I do perform in my work, and while I'm stubborn, I still remind myself to be fair and reasonable. I do not need money badly, in fact, I think i can be living life as usual even if I do not work for a few months. 为什么要看这些(疯子)的脸色过日子呢? I believe I'm made for better things than that! Maybe I should just ignore them...
*My sis asked why i hafta quit just to go for Yugo's wedding. Thing is I dont have much AL left and will be taking a relatively long break for New Year. So asking for leave in early Feb would probably trigger another round of unnecessary insults (ok abit exaggerated).... so it makes sense right? heee....
Exams and Max's wedding dinner next week! When I'm done with these, shall work on putting my life back in order!! Off to hit the books now!

Stupid!
Very frustrated with the stupidity and incompetency of people. Because of it, we end up having to run about making corrections for the mistakes they make. And we look inefficient to others since correction work is hardly noticed, only innovative (with bugs) ones gets the limelight.
Stupid stupid stupid!

Letter to the Boss
Dear Boss,
The next time you try shouting at me for no obvious reason, you can be assured there will be no response from me until you learn how to speak politely. I would also like to encourage the addition of the word 'please' into your vocabulary bank for the sake of all human kinds who happen to work with you.
Please kindly inform me when you are ready to talk.
Thank you very much.
Warmest Regards,
P.I.G

RISC
Feel like the head is going to split handling 10+ different things simultaneously and reminding 5 different people about each of the things related to them. Mental block is frequent nowadays. Either head will split, or personality will.
Not including things outside of work, yet.
In a meeting now, with many spastic fools dancing round and round in circles.......

Ok la, i think the comical side of him kinda grows onto people, though I can't get over the width of his entire mouth... guys with wide grins freak me out abit... Found this in the Anecan and thought of putting it up for your sake haha... Got other members of 嵐, you want?
Saw this article on how to write beautiful Kanji (they have 101 DS softwares just for it)... Since my Chinese characters were hideous to start with, this might come in useful... must go read my txtbk instead of those mags.....

Love Song for #1
In the twinkling stars that dance like fireflies
In the blushing fruit that hangs upon the vine
In the face of a baby as he forms his first smile
I see you
In the whisper of the wind’s soft lullaby
In the laughter and the roar of the rushing tide
In the song of the sparrow as he takes his first flight
I hear you
Why do you hide among the nameless and forgotten
Why do you walk along these long forsaken roads
Calling to me in the hungry and the homeless
Calling me to water your thirst
So I’ll give you my heart and my song
In a world where so much is right but so much is wrong
Your love is my beginning and I know it won’t be too long
Till I see you
Why do you hide among the nameless and forgotten
Why do you walk along these long forsaken roads
Calling to me in the hungry and the homeless
Calling me to water your thirst
So I’ll give you my heart and my song
In a world where so much is right but so much is wrong
Your love is my beginning and I know it won’t be too long
Till I see you
I hear you
I love you
Gonna get it...

西游记
Do you remember this?
Was talking to the Geek about 西游记 (forgot why) and we started looking for the first shows/comics we saw about this story. For him, it was on one of the Doraemon movie he knew about this.
And obviously, it's this for me.
So nostalgic hahahaha.... my bro and i used to have the show recorded into our entire collection of tapes, and repeat non stop! So sick to see this thing after so long hee.. must show my Ah Ma one day coz she was our companion during then!

Hee after much hunting around, I've finally found the person I need to fill up the position!!! So super duper happy! She came in for interview this morning, and I had a pretty good impression of her while reading thru her resume the prev day that I told my HR to inform her we'll offer her the position immediately ahaha... anyway, the interview went pretty well, that we decided on her straight after the interview, and she attended the 2nd interview with my MD later. Got the nod from the MD, so what's left is just for her to serve her notice period, which is 2 months. I believe that good things must wait haha... so I'll hang out these 2 months for her sake. BTW women are going to rule this world sooner or later.
Prata man hasnt replied my mail, yet. He actually mailed/called me regarding other stuffs but seemed to have wiped out the prata issue from his mind. So convenient. Sometimes I wish I could be as shameless/prideless/spineless as me, and life will be easier. Boss knows and understands about this matter too, and he's spoken to Prata man, while telling me to close 1 eye. One thing I agree with my boss (who admits he's a 馬鹿) is that, when you act like a clown (or 馬鹿 in his own words), life is better and you can get away with things easier. But I find it hard to convince myself to put down my pride for such worthless reasons. Not now at least, maybe coz I've not been brainwashed enough to be management material yet.
One of the Japanese manager (this fatherly man) went back to his hometown in 札幌 and dropped by 小樽 (I ♥♡♥♡♥♡ the place!!!!) or a visit. He got this for 2 in his team and myself, even though my team is different fr his. I dont have much things that I can put the strap to (iPhone no have laa) but sooo sweet of him to have thought of us during his vacation! *touched*
Promise to be kinder and make less jokes about him, for as long as I can remember/bear.
Slight digression, 小樽 Otaru is a VERY beautiful place, and EVERYONE should at least visit the place once in the entire lifetime!!! Unless you are the kind who only fancy concrete and modern buildings hee... I havent heard anyone who's been there (not that much actually) NOT rave about it! To me, that place felt like some place in a fairy tale, where you walk into a street and there's music from the オルゴール factories/shops. オルゴール (orugouru) actually comes from the word 'orgel' in Dutch/German, and basically refers to musical box. Anyways, VERY NICE!!!
One of the biggest オルゴール堂
And they have very nice cafes & restaurants... with nice views, depending on which part you are at. This cafe we went to let us choose the kinda cups to use for the coffee, and when we're done, there's a place for us to wash up the cups and bring them back, packed in a box (of course, provided). So uber cool right??

Highly recommended for honeymooners! But even if not, this place is a must-go la!!! And I know I'm going back one day not so far in the future. Love it to bits! Wanna upload all the nice pix so that I can make every gian! Wait till I have the time to settle the flickr account, hopefully this weekend!
Don't know why I'm selling this place like so desperately. If l think logically (selfishly), less visitors means cheaper hotel rates and less queues. Ok ok not nice one, all dont go!
Said I would go to bed ytd, but ended up staying up to install some apps on the iPhone. Got some new things to play with hee... started experimenting with some of the apps abit while on the bus.. decorated a photo of Kimberly using the プリクラ app... quite interesting i would say hee... but quality wise not so good... another one is the app that lets u take pix like a lomo cam, and the resolution is equivalent to 4 pic combined, so nothing's discounted. Will play around more when I dont feel sleepy on the bus ride.

And there's a fantabulous company called Le Tao that sells super good choco and pastries and stuffs! Best part is, everything looks pretty! The shops, the choco (cocoa rare choco, white rare choco) , the cakes (very good fromage!), E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! It was so good that I couldnt resist shipping it all the way to Dad's friends in Kobe. Feeling hungry now....

Tiring Day
Absolutely tiring day at work. Prob more drained from handling the careless or insensitive (stubborn ones). But nothing beats having to copy with the prata man, who nearly caused me to lose my credibility in front of the relevant people. Managed to find some supporting info and documents to prove i wasn't the one who made the mistake. I agree we should always move on and rectify issues instead of finger pointing or looking into who's fault it is. In fact, that's what I've been trying to remind myself that it should the way, at least in my own team. But if people take advantage of it too often, I cannot take it lying down, must fight back. Ended up feeling so exhausted.
Have another interview tml. Looks like a promising candidate, i got quite excited while looking thru the resume where prev ones were totally unmatching.
She finally remb the magazine today, after i sms to remind her. So happy for her, it's beginning to look like she can remb abit of things, finally. =P
Hello everyone. Are you all sick (in the body/mind)? Please take care, seems like the influenza is affecting everyone, and a cough is the IN thing to walk around with. Drink more water, and sleep more. The Geek's lost his voice too, and had to go to the hospital for 6 kinds of influenza check, which all, thankfully turned out negative.
Off to bed.

Update: Realized the pix for the blog template were hosted on Geocities, when I saw the template going haywire. Was rushing to get it fixed just now... thank god PhotoBucket support direct URL.... not that I tried really hard to find others hee...

(Disgusting) Lunch
Food downstairs is getting from bad to worse (which was never near good to start with). Was walking around for about 10mins forcing myself to decide which disgusting food to take. It's already bad enough that the choices around this vicinity are so limited (and mostly unappetizing). It doesn't help that lunch is strictly 1 hour (unless of course, if you lunch with the bosses).
Life is getting more mundane, almost as if to prove that things CAN INDEED get more ordinary when you think it's impossible. I feel like I'm putting it on hold, for no obvious reasons besides laziness.
Seeing many wedding dinners being held at Orchard Hotel lately. I think it's a pretty good venue, just that the recep area is abit cramped. Both my sis and cousin had their dinners there.
Can't wait for the next holiday to come, in like 2 months' time?!
Kill me already.
Realised that I've chalked up at least 13 holidays with the Geek in this period of time. That's where my money and annual leaves have gone to, if you ask me.

Forgetfulness
She forgot the magazine today again, and apologized to me profusely.
Actually i've half expected it yesterday but refrained from reminding to give her a chance. Starting to find this whole episode very funny.

Biz Partner
*gasps* just told that we'll be meeting this major biz partner, who's coming over to the office today. The Taiwanese company with very inefficient engineers, that is. Thank god im still dressed ok (for the interview) despite looking like crap from the lack of sleep.
Someone let this day end soon so that i can go back to rest!!

Reporting for work
Woke up feeling my body isn't a part of me.
Or maybe, because my soul has flown off somewhere. Didn't sleep well last night, was tossing all over, prob coz i slept too much the last weekend. =(
The boss and big boss came in for work today, apparently from some impt biz trip. Then you could see some of the Japanese staff walking into their work station/office to 挨拶. To me, it's like commoners doing their 拜神 act. My dearest office lady forgot (like what's new?) to bring back my Ane Can magazine, and the minute she saw me entering the elevator, she gave a cry like it's a tragedy. Actually, i've half expected her to forget anyway, no big deal.
Have I mentioned Jocelyn gave birth to her Princess Chloe? (Nowadays all the kids are Prince A, Princess Z, some even with middle names). I'm getting kinda paranoid that im repeating things at least 10 times b4 i remb i've written about it. The first baby in my closer group of friends!! Hopefully there's no meeting tonight so I can probably pop by, checking with the guys in Japan now. (Just got the reply, no meeting yay!)
Alrite, 2 interviews today, and prob some small talks with the boss. Don't think he'll attempt to start any serious discussions with me today since he'll be too busy hee.... Anticipate abit of work to rush thru, but yeah guess i can make arrangements to go off early.
Muax.

Pikachu
They said they found pikachu.
Real or not, you judge for yourself here.

I just found it terribly freaky, no matter what it is......
Just had an agonizing talk with the Geek about whether he wants to stay in Japan to work or somewhere else... he never seem to get the idea that i wanna work overseas for awhile (i said it straight in the face, not hint coyly), be it in Japan, US, Europe, and just kept saying he wants to either stay in Japan or come to SG... only now he got my point! But i was already fuming and melting like a fondue fountain, which was too late even when he tried to calm me down. How can men be so stupid? I dislike the fact that I have to get an answer this way, totally messes up my mood for the following days!
Have 2 (or issit 3?) interviews to go for tml morning, and a few more this week, for my QA engineer... =( dont seem to have much good candidates this time round, where are all the good ones??? alrite alrite must go prepare some killer qns to make sure only the good ones get my attn...
Updated:
There's something I must say. Took the normal 963 on Friday morning, and since my bus was pretty crowded, i changed to the 963E that was following behind, at Bukit Batok area... and dozed off as usual.. i woke up a few times but failed to do so at my stop... and when i finally woke up, i was already on my way to Harbour Front, since thats the next stop for the express bus... ended up having to take another bus back to the office... luckily im usually early for work, so that whole episode made me abt 25mins later than usual.... what a sleepyhead...................

Reflections
Havent been much productive this weekend besides drifting in and out of dreamland. Think I slept away at least 60% of my weekend. But good thing is, I'm almost recovered, save the flem. The Geek was in a worse state, his temperature even hit 38.5 at one point! Tried calling him several times (in my own drowsy state) to get up and get some medications and food from the convenience store, only to find him falling back into sleep. Sigh, but he's too, almost well now. =) He's got a meeting with the Chairman tomorrow, apparently to talk about his future after completing the MOT course.... hopefully something good turns out from the meeting... heehee...
Reflections
I think it's obviously by now that, my shower time is also thinking time for me. Thought about many things today. One thing was, trying to find a job (non teaching!!) in Japan, which brought me to Anthony, and then thinking about meeting his gf (which is an ex NY gal + SAJCian)...
....and then I started to think about the NY gals I know of, who ended up everywhere except the elitist JCs. There's seem to be this common evilness about us, which probably stemmed from the time we left NY... I never regretted entering SA, and I made many friends which till today, I still remained pretty close to. They were a different group from those I knew from HCJC, perhaps more down to earth and simple? And the fact that they all come from different schools (except for the SAS boys) makes the whole combination very interesting =)
The short stint in HCJC band was an eye opener, it's fascinating how much stories could be spun up within such a short period of time... And Gong's decision to leave HC for SA haha... but then again, that may only apply to the particular groups of people we knew... Still remembered this idiot whom, after knowing about my encounter with a flasher in France, said that's not such a big deal, and was laughing at the whole incident... I was thinking then, will you be laughing if that was your own gf who met with a flasher?
Then.. I thought about how I hadnt updated my blog for such a long time, which started when I was in Japan... Partly coz of my laziness, I was too caught up with life over there, my bad. But it was also because I thought posting information openly would agitate the ex more, or even lead to some undesirable events... the whole incident of having to face his hounding was so traumatizing, I decided it's better to keep things to myself.. and he was here for biz trip few times after my return, so we practically met everyday, and sometimes after work.. but i just felt so super stressed up, that i was dying to go home all the time... i can still remember how skeletal he has become, it also showed me how the heart can rule over the mind, he ate but everything just got thrown up later on.... it doesnt seem like he's over it, from his hostility when we corresponded abt work... anyway... hope the whole affair will slowly reach a conclusion...........

Life in Japan
Hmm guessed I havent talked about my life in Japan, when I was there for (ONLY) 6 months.... 6 months was definitely not enough for me, I would love to lengthen the whole stay haha... but reality is such, I had to come back and serve the 1 yr bond... boohooo... I was the 2nd guy from Singapore to be sent over, and I guessed they still felt we were some kinda novelty, and were all (overly) enthusiastic towards me...
The apartment was pretty nice. Not say fantastic, but at least when i asked them to change my room to the 2nd floor, i ended up with the apartment with a loft! very useful when my sis and cousin came over to stay, and when we were out drinking, my place was the haven for the drunken colleagues who couldnt catch anymore trains (like at 3am?).... normally, it would serve as extra storage space... Talking about the drinking parties, those days made up a big part of my life over there haha! those crazy bums would find a silly reason for 飲み会, work till 10+pm, meet up one by one at the 居酒屋, and drink and eat like nobody's biz... and that's when you can bitch and joke about anything you want, coz by the next day, everyone will act like the whole thing didnt take place... which was a cultural shock for me at first haha.. but i got by!

Weird people. Got invited by a few weirdos from the company for dinner dates. At first i didnt think much about it, and went for dinner with one of the guys from 業務 whom i bumped into on my way home. We went to this pretty high end restaurant in a hotel nearby, and he ended up talking thruout the whole dinner, while i was concentrating on my steak... not very comfortable when he started to talk about his birthdays, and how he spends them (alone, in French restaurants)..... at least i didnt hafta pay to listen to the dinner, since he refused to let me see the bill even....
And another pervert, i think he's kinda scary. Throughout my stay there, i met him thrice on the street, and everytime, he tried asking me to go out with him. Worst part was that i bumped into him at a place nearer and nearer to my apartment, which made me freak out alot when i visualised him stalking me.... First time we met near Loft, he tried speaking in Japanese to me, and i said i dont understand anything and walked away... he then tried speaking in English but i gave him the cold shoulder... next 2 times (Sogo, and somewhere VERY near my apartment), he came forward, in English... he only let go when i said i was going to have dinner with my bf, and that was the last time i met him... Who said Japan is safe??? I started to do the double locking everytime i enter my apartment from then on...
I have this gf, this Canadian (but both parents are Japanese) who worked in the mechanical group... she was the one i could connect to mostly, since we found the same Japanese things ridiculous and laughed at them.. and the only lady whom was daring enough to stay out the whole night at Roppongi bar hoping, just the 2 of us.... and we even ended up at a foot massage during one of the sessions, coz her feet was hurting so much hee....
There were also a few interesting characters, whom some we've kept in touch due to work, and some who have moved on.... This nice old man from 業務 (again!) who was extremely caring and nice, even up till now.... and also every wednesday, the group of youngsters would hold our very own Pizza Party, at the guestroom of the R&D building, or the adjacent park, if weather was good! Why wednesday? because they have buy-one-get-one, just for that day! Very interesting party, since it's all the young people who just started out working and it's when we unload our complaints and stress for the mid week... good to see everyone making an effort to turn up despite our busy schedules =( really hope to see them again man!
And of course, the Geek who's also part of the party! He's known to be the studious one (in the past that is), and supposedly my Canadian girl had a thing for him... it just goes to say how much bad girls are attracted to the goodie old boys rite? heee....
Which brings me to the topic of my New Year Holidays!! Haven't decided on something concrete yet, we're open to going anywhere this hol... and im absolutely looking forward to the Chrismas Party my Canadian girl is organising, where hopefully the original gang can turn up and have a reunion! But I certainly aint looking forward seeing the crazy american chap who ruined the party last year!!
