You reap what you sow

There she goes about my Japanese class notes again.
She thinks that by having my notes, she has no fears and can pass the exams now.
Does it make sense to you that notes can 'look well written' because they are written after understanding something? It's very A-B-C to me. Conversely, reading 'well written notes' doesn't guarantee you can do well, if you can't be bothered to understand your class.

Spent again...

This weekend passed by too quickly, far too quickly for me to do everything I had wanted to do. In fact, eversince the SIL started her dramamama, every weekend just came and went like this. Good thing is that I don't really wanna hang on to those weekends which make me feel pretty confused about family matters. Bad thing is, I feel too lethargic for work the next day, and it snowballs indefinitely until I ever get enough rest. I need mini hibernation from time to time. The baby slept in my room with Mom ytd coz Dad needs the aircon. He (baby) was keeping Mom and myself awake in the middle of the night, so that explains my sleepier than usual sleepy look.

We had a family AGM ytd, basically to check Bro's thoughts and his plans. We now have some ideas of his ideas, but somehow they didnt seem to go down well with everyone. We're still feeling insecure about what's gonna happen to the kids. Anyway, there wasn't any concrete conclusion yet, since Mum was asking for some time to let Bro think over his decisions. I might hafta give up my room soon, not that I mind alot but I don't wanna move out to only have to move in again later. Not fun packing and unpacking lor. Baby brat suggested that I move things out bit by bit, to last long enough for SIL to go nuts again. Not a funny idea... I prefer to stay away from home haha...

Could tell that actually the brat was quite sad at the prospects of having the girls move out. After the meeting, he went and grilled them continuously by asking if they actually do wanna move out and telling them the *negative* possibilities if they do. Good that he got the answer he wanted haha.... He then spent a long time in their room accompanying and getting bullied by them. He actually voiced out his concerns during the meeting, regarding the kids. To have him to even care about family matters is really a rarity. Come to think of it, he's actually quite close to them, and surprisingly, a doting uncle who submits to their whines. They treated him like a friend, and hardly respected him, but they know that he is someone they could go to if they are bored, scared, etc... Quite interesting the 3 of them!

Gonna talk to the Geek about the whole 'Going-to-Japan' thing. Looking by the way things are heading, it might not be a good time to leave. Doesn't seem sensible to do my MBA financed through Daddy's foundation too, not at this moment at least. And if I am really still going, I would wanna try once more to get the other scholarship, which means I'll hafta get the recommendation letter soon!

Oh did I say I met up with ZP on fri? Wanted to get the fan before meeting him, but Best Denki doesnt provide free delivery (costs $20!!) and I was too tied up with my own stuffs to carry a tower fan all the way from Taka to Cine where he parked his car. Din get anything in the end. We went to the crappy HK cafe to wait for his friend to pick sth up from him, and then headed Oriole for some good food.

Picked up his gf from Shaw before they both sent me back. Coincidentally (or not really so), she's drunk again, like for most of the times we met. Even she said so herself! I really wonder how drunk one can get in a simple dinner with colleagues. If you can't really hold your liquor well, you'd better know your limits instead of having your bf to worry about you everytime u go for dinners/drinking sessions, and making yourself look like a fool in front of colleagues. Could smell the alcohol from her the min she hopped into the car. Could hear her colleagues going 'waaahhhhh....." when they saw ZP (and me) coming to pick up the drunkard gf. Anyway felt like a giant light bulb at the back seat, and was very glad to be out of sight afterthat. I should really stay away abit, it's not doing us any good when I get the weird look on my face when she's in one of her funny moods.

Other things that happened this weekend. Henry remembers my birthday, and called me up to ask if my phone is 3G/3GS, and the color... Not hard to guess he's getting a bdae prez hor? He'd been talking about it eversince we met up for Cats beginning of the year. Considering we knew each other through our internship stints at Accenture (which lasted only 3mths, i think), I was pretty touched that he could remember such things. Things in life are strange. Even though we dont keep in touch often, we don't feel weird when we do hang out once every blue moon. And now I realise I don't even know his birthday... craps, gotta find out!

Finally picked up 'The Last Lecture' DVD which Rojan passed me a million years ago. Watched half of it coz was interrupted by the Geek. While I won't say it's super inspiring, it's pretty interesting to know about the life of someone whom I think is cool. Gotta finish up the other half by this weekend else the old grand daddy will nag and nag non stop. =)

Saw a woman who looked like she had an obsession with her grand nanny lacy curtain at home. Took a pic of of her, but haven't uploaded it yet. Can't wait cant wait!!! You're bound to love her, Zhen! So jealous!!!

Updated:

The only good things that happened was that I got a new fan and finally went to Jones the Grocer with Gong & Zhen. =) Was telling Dad i need a new fan and that the delivery cost doesnt seem justified, and he drove me to IMM the next day to get it. I really don't need people to chauffeur me all over, but really appreciate lil' things like these from time to time you know. And Jones the Grocer was a total surprise since we're supposed to be at VCH for the Taiko perf, when Gong & I kidnapped the other woman in the middle of the 1st half.... I've got very sharp eyes, to complement for my bad memory (not recalling it was at Dempsy) hee... The food there was good, my Chai Latte was so-so though... Nice to know another place to get good tea... The next thing to do now is to finish up all the stock of tea (black tea, white tea, green tea, all sorta tea) I've gotten... tsktsk...

iPhone case isnt here yet and I'm so tired of waiting for it. That's why I dislike net shopping so much, except in Japan when they take so much pride for being efficient!

Thought there's gonna be a late meeting today (and thus dressed formal)... but realised that they pushed it to the following week! I'm not complaining, especially since it means I can go back to make up for some sleep lost ytd!

Confusion

Has received an offer to provide for my MBA in Japan, with tuition fees and living expenses all sponsored. All from Daddy foundation.

I'm feeling kinda confused.
Not sure if I should be spending this kinda money at this kinda time.
And with the recent troubles and pending changes at home, I'm feeling reluctant to just leave my family for another country.

Maybe it's time to stop fooling around and take life seriously.

Randomness

Have an entry I wrote on the bus trip, which is now stuck in the iPhone coz the WiFi in office isn't working well. 3G also failed somehow, wondered if it has gotta do with the fact that I disabled it and didnt enabled it properly again.

Anyway, put it up later.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dad will be back tonite. Doubt he ll be able to put an end to the family perils once and for all, but hope at least there ll be a change for the better coz it seems like everyones heading for their limits.

Heard that SIL crashed the car in that accident and that both of them have gotta be scrapped. Not that i have a thing for red car, but wat a serious waste. 勿体無い (もったいない).Considering neither herself paid a single cent for the car, i think she shd be brought into the grave with the car. Heard sth ridiculous abt she wanting to do sth to the kids (对付他们) if the hubby doesnt listen to her. My blood nearly boiled aft hearing it. Im now convinced she prob doesnt need them by her side so its ok if we tk them away fr her. Holy crap. Angry. If my mom ever says such a thg, i ll mk sure i grow up well to 对付他.

Been sacrificing my social life to be with the kids. Baby bro said engineers dont have much of a life anyway. haha idiot but maybe hes rite.

Was reminded ytd (by the other guy rejected for MEXT scholarship) tt we dont have much time left and theres two 800 words essays to be done, besides the other 2 smaller essays and other docs to settle. ok better get it over and done with so that i can translate in time too. But the prospect of being stuck in Japan for abt 3 yrs dont really appeal to me anymore. Judging fr the turmoil at hm, anythg can happen with so mentally unsound ppl living under the same roof.

Hoping to get a fan for like the longest time in my life. Prob is everyones occupied with sth and in my opinion, buying a fan isnt a one-person exercise. Was going on and on to the Geek that i need a fan and he has gotta find a way to send one over b4 i break into one of my Miss Stubborn tantrums.

The Geek mentioned i have been good and throwing a fit recently. Its prob coz ive been way too troubled with the things at hm. I know it and i dont him to remind me. In fact, ive had the same tots several times but nv spoke abt it, coz i pandan. So he just got me pretty pissed and i asked him "そんな事言った方が良いの?", which basically means "Is it a good idea to say it out (instead if letting it be)?", in Piglish. Not literally but agar agar la. Glad he got my point and din go on anymore.

Also comtemplating going down to Coro starbucks to finish up the essays. Since ive been wanting to go down for the next longest time, i mite as well mk my way down, hoping i wun end up playing Bejeweled. If ZP is free to go get my fan w me, then its Buy A Fan day. Another case of a guy fren too engaged (even he feels so) with the gf. Heard shes got a slight prob w me.... den my fault for knowing him too early? sigh things like these always happen...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh and I have a new resolution haha.... which is to watch at least 1 episode of J-drama a week, to improve my conversational and listening skill, as well as having some entertainment in my mundane everyday life.

Tired

Just not my day.
First got blasted at by the crazy boss.
Then it's no OT day but worked later than I had planned to go off.
Supposed to hitch a ride fr Sis, but apparently she mixed up the plans and I ended up going fr ATP to cmw MRT, to TBP, back to cmw and then took a bus back home. Luckily I had my Mr Brain with me and finished it on the bus ride.

By the time I reached home, I heard Clara screaming and shouting, sounds like one of her tantrums. They wanna take her earrings out (she just got them pierced) coz seems like there's a slight infection and she had been complaining that it hurt abit. Her idiotic dad even took out the piler & stuffs to try to take it out for her. Stupid, of cos she ll be freaked out and crying non stop right? Managed to calm her down and the next door lady came and chop chop took it out while Clara was too busy to notice. Ended having to calm her down all over again.

Bedtime!

26th August 2009

Something so memorable, I've gotta mark this day with a blog entry. See this conversation btw boss and myself (pardon the bad engrish).

Boss : Did you download the firmware for KG san?
P.I.G : yes i have sent it to him
P.I.G : u mean download into the printer?
Boss : sent? did you pass FW to him?
P.I.G : yes
P.I.G : am i not supposed to?
Boss : baka. Reason why we sent you FW?
Boss : If we want pass the fiemware to KG, we did not ask you.
P.I.G : i checked with Tagami san.... anyway let me ask KG again
Boss : baka

*P.I.G already fuming and pissed like shit for being pancaked and thrown stones at so many times*

P.I.G : I have told Software Team I will download the FW for them, but they need the firmware to test firmware download function
P.I.G : and KG san said that O-san has asked for the firmware as well
P.I.G : anyway if you want me to only download the firmware, please inform me
P.I.G : i only know about this when KG san told me this morning.
P.I.G : if u have not told me clearly, stop calling me baka
Boss : Um.... absolve
P.I.G : I have asked KG to not send the firmware
P.I.G : anyway they still need the firmware. I told him to discuss with u
Boss : before release the firmware, it will not pass someone. Please understand.
P.I.G : I thought about it. But Software team people told me he has version H, which is only 1 version before current one
P.I.G : how do u explain why he has that firmware?
Boss : anyway understand. sorry manythings told you.
P.I.G : so now do u want to download or email? i can ask him to delete his email
Boss : you are so honesty. It is ok.I could understand they need to use it for application development. Next time please take care. :)
P.I.G : ok. anyway i tried to contact u to confirm, but u were not in office. if next time, i cannot contact u, i will not release the firmware or download for them, even if KG asks many times
P.I.G : in that case, u cannot blame me for not releasing, because i have to check with u
Boss : sorry you may sad about my comments. When you pass those stuff to them. Please put some condition to them. e.g. it can use inside company only etc... Please do not stop when I not stay office. You can decide. (bow)

I win all limbs down.
We always say in our family "恶人没胆" which means evil people have no guts.
Even the other guy involved (KG here) is feeling sorry I hafta go through it.
It further proves 1 point, I should never end up with Japanese guys of that generation (10yrs older & above).

P/S:If you don't know the meaning of 'baka', check it out here.

Rude!

Hate it when people cut in when others are talking.
So rude! *tsktsk*
Of cos, good friends not included hahahaha coz they are entitled this privilege!

Some snapshot of the note taking tool I'm using on my iPhone.
Quite impressive *ahem, pretty*!

I'm blogging way too often than I should, again!

Btw, im pondering whether to sign up for a web picture hosting service, and if so, with what.... For freebies, stupid Flickr is limiting me to only display the 200 most recent pix, while Picasa only have 1Gb for me. There's another Japanese hosting site that gives 10Gb but only allows 100 pix uploads/mth..... For the paid svc, Flickr allows unlimited upload/no. for USD25/yr. Picasa has some limit which I can't really remb....

Btw, just got myself an iPhone leather case online... hope it's not some scam and comes soon!!! Yipeee oki back to work!

My life ain't that bad

Remember this guy i blogged about previously?

Well apparently, he was still the newscaster at NHK when I was around 2 weeks ago.
And He looks like this now......

My Polka Dotted Brolly

While i was in japan, i was trying deserately to get a brolly tt can be used for rain and has uv cut function. the brollies they have there mostly have either of the function only. what good has am umbrella if it doesnt shelter u fr the rain? and i was really hoping to get the uv cut one since i go out more often in the wkends afternoon, under the scorning sun. lastly, it has got to be pretty, or at least i should think so haha *think polka dots*

and so i was out there searching again. i made it one of the "things-to-get" so the Geek will help look out for it. everytime we see some hint of a place that may sell them, we ll chk it out. they really do have some nice multi functional ones ard, but costs abt 4000円, which is abt $60 here. no way im going to pay that kinda money unless u bring the sun to shine rite in my face. oh and did i say it was on sale? original price was 1万円 (~$150)..... *gasps*

when i finally do find sth w all the functions and fit my budget (~2000円), the designs dont go down well with me....

and i was so gonna give up and tot of giving the sunny sun in sg a good time bbq-ing me, we chked out 'Demo' at Narita. its basically like 'Plaza' and i suspect they are actually the same stuff. finally found this polka dotted brolly, that fits into the bill! nice, shelters me fr rain and sun, and costs abt 2000円. of cos i got it right away.

so much just to explain why i got a polka dotted brolly. so much just so that if it rains, nobody shd scorn at my brolly and ppl will come under it for shelter haha....

im getting so used to this phone that im blogging fr here, while tucking the kids to bed...

RIP - Clover leaf

My clover leaf got flushed down the toilet, by myself, technically speaking.
Clara was flipping thru my organizer for a nice pic to draw, and all the things started to fall out one by one. The clover leaf was wrapped in tissue paper and fell out as well... my dearest sister saw a piece of tissue and based on good intentions, dumped it into the toilet bowl. When I saw it in the toilet, it was already too late, and I could only flush it down. booohoooohooooo.......

The Geek and I were lurking around electronics stores (like whats new) while I was in Japan. We've been thinking of getting a decent ipod speaker for quite some time. But there isnt much practical reason to get it since he's alwiz isnt home and we're still living apart. anywayz, we couldnt resist checking the speakers out. Went to one of the biggest branches of Yodobashi Cam and found a super wide range of speakers to choose from, and i quickly took my ipod out to test them out. have gotta say we're the most impressed with Yamaha's quality, surprisingly. Lookswise not so fantastic yeah?
There was another brand (Panasonic I think) that had uber cool interfaces. u could embed ur ipod/iphone into the glass partition which looks super geeky. hahaha ok... sound wise wasnt that bad either. we obviously, didnt get anything. but its definitely gonna be on our list of to-get if i ever move to Japan...

SIL's condition isnt improving. Got into a fight with grandma ytd. If you dont know yet, the person to never offend in my family is the dowager empress. SIL, too overwhelmed by anger when she heard grandma tokking on the phone with one of the aunts abt SIL's crazy acts, rushed into the room and started a verbal fight, which turned a little physical. Mum had to try very hard to bring her out, and grandma locked herself up into the room. You can imagine how fast the royal family rushed over to bring justice to the whole issue. I was out for lunch with TKM and by the time i was on the bus home, i got wind of the info, and was activated. There was a big hoohaa and her mum (another nutcase) was called over, and the whole episode didnt end until the night. The ambulance came and left, without bringing anyone/anything away.

But there's not much pt since SIL's condition isnt stable at all. Seems like she's really got a serious mental issue, and I'm starting to feel sorry for her. If only she's not so rude to the elders at home (mom included), I wont mind her that much. Anywayz, it was supposed to the bro's 21st bdae celebration ytd, and with that incident, almost the enitre family turned up, for the wrong reason. i congratulated him for having the best memorable 21st birthdays (lunar & modern calendars) since these incidents happened on his bdaes.

This morn, she got out of the house w/o anyone knowing. We had to tell the kids that she went shopping. Bro was out looking for her, and when he did, they called home and Clara spoke to her. The first thing the poor kid asked was "Mommy are u ok? are u more happy now?"..... my heart melted... what have we been putting the kids through? Few hours later, my bro called and said that SIL crashed her car into a tree and was sent to hospital. but judging from the fact that we could still hear her voice quarreling in the backgrd means she prob not badly injured.

im kinda scared to leave home nowadays, dunno wats gonna happen next. but i dont feel like staying to see all these drama happening too.

Purchases

Heee wanna be cheapo and start blogging abt my purchases first since its easier than sorting out the trip pix. Can use this chance to note down what I've bot (and what I can get in future) maaaa =P Anyway it's supposed to be for my own stock taking, so if it gets too boring, pls move on haha.....

Hairclip (gift from the Geek so I have to use it) and this cute cat brooch (which looks abit scary here) hee...

We got ourselves icewine in Japan. I tasted it and quite liked the flavour, so got myself 1 bottle from DFS at Changi. The yellow box is a prezzie for dearest Kim baby!! Supposed to be a secret but i'll tell u it's a pretty photo frame fit for the cutest baby! And of cos, Gandum model for Zhen!

Origins for my colleague & sis, plus Ipsa for myself.... *ouch!!!!*

Cheap cheap glitter, Fancl stuffs and my saviour, the Pantene hair damage treatment (damn overpriced in SG)!!

Another brolly for myself. This one has UV cut function and works for rainy days as well! Took me a while to find something I like which isnt too ex hee... The Marc Jacobs barang barang bag!! Got it free with any purchase of the Marc Jacobs catalogue (abt 1000yen), and i totally heart it! Not too girlish, big enuff for alot of stuffs and looks cool!!

Marc Jacobs got themselves a new fan in me!

A cheap notebk fr Muji as my new recipe book, and of cos, JLPT1 books.... Not cheap at all, but definitely way better than getting them fr Kino SG.... Been thinking since I paid so much for them, i'd better ace it... does it work this way? will let u know again haha.... hoping to attempt it this coming June/July, or rather, not just pass, but pass with over 80%?

Ghibli goodies!!! Very nice card of stain glasses!! Couldnt resist getting them as much as I dont have any practical use for them....

Stickers (the geek wanted them but landed up with me instead), Ponyo badge and Totoro pencils for the girls at home...

Photo album from Muji (I'm supposed to fill Geek's album and vice versa). And introducing my indispensable snacks from Japan! Calorie Mate, Puccho, お茶付け & サッポロ一番とんこつラーメン!!! Yummy! Oh and Calorie Mate has saved me from dying of hunger in office on a number of occasions haha.... *highly recommended*

Cheapo freebies I've picked up... Softbank お父さん folder, seals and LCD cleaners... He's supposed to be an icon over there haha... darn funny, he's the head of a household where the mom and daughter are normal Japanese, while his son is a black (or rather, looks like one)... I amuse myself alot watching their CM hee... Oh and fans i picked up to beat the heat! I've seen way nicer ones but somehow never figured how others got them....

Cardis from Gap & Lowry Farm during outlet shopping! Still got more clothes but most of them are still in the washing machine....

Black sesame!!! Hahahaha *imagines Zhen shaking head violently*...
New black sesame cookies, and of coz, the infamous ごまたまご!!

Yummy 煎餅 from 中村屋, and the pretty wrapper i couldnt resist keeping heee...

There's still this ipod speaker I got for my bro... it's damn cute & cool all at the same time! can't explain haha but put it up here when i get it back from him next time! And I'm so tempted to get it back PERMANENTLY from him booohoooo.... Since his bdae is ard the corner and he's starting Uni, a speaker for his ipod (passed down fr me too!!!) would be a good bdae prezzie so there's some entertainment when mugging outside?

Now i realised how much I've passed down to him... my Canon Ixus, old hdd, ipod.... u can say im either a v lousy or good sis, depends on how u view it hee... but they were in perfect working conditions when i gave them to him, so he must think im a utterly cool & fantastic sis!!

Very guai for lunch today.
I packed lotsa meat, tofu and fats into my lunchbox.
Wondering why the doc hates me, to wanna kill me this way....

Jap class ytd and took back my the CA2 results.
84/100. Not too bad, considering the average was 74.
Overheard my classmates talking about JLPT (very hard not to when they were so loud, as if the entire class is involved in the conversation). Anywayz, frankly speaking (and im not try to 吹牛) but i think im in a better position than most (if not all) of them. They were discussing whether or not to go for JLPT2 or 3. According to them, JLPT2 is an impossibility for them.

One of this guy (who is darn committed in studying Japanese) has been preparing to take level 2 end of this year, and he's enrolled with Ikoma for the 1 year prep course (costs over $1k!!!). I think i've said my piece about enrolling in prep classes, and with the extra $1k, I could fly over to Japan twice!! The class was going on about how hardworking and good this guy is in Japanese, "especially since he's taking the prep class", and asked why he's still going on with normal class. God, tell these people the classes are different lor!!! Hee and can I add, he's the super geeky slim tall bespectabled guy, who brings his voice recorder (to record everything the sensei says), a camera (to take pix of notes when its too much), and his electronic dictionary. I wish him good luck man, with all the efforts he's putting into. At least he's managed to score 100 for the CA2 (like, WTH???).... for that, i admire him as the geek.

But I still prefer to learn a language through experience, listening and using it.
That was that I've seen my mentor, Rojan, did, and he was a fantastic speaker.
Of course, he's smart and talented as well lah! I so hate him hahahahaha.....

Very sick of the meaty taste in my mouth now.

MC King... continued

Gave him a warning.
"If you still do not improve, the next time we talk about your performance, it's not going to be just 2 of us."

I think he's not stupid enough to miss my point.

For somebody

不见不散 hor....

Every girl loves a guy in clean neat shirt

I've gotta say this before hand, I don't have a thing for most ang mohs, not unless they are so finger licking delicious like Johnny Depp. I usually dont find them especially attractive.

Anyway there was this ang moh guy on the guy today, I know he's the guy who takes the same bus almost everyday. Just that I was prob more awake (after concussing on the bus for an entire hour), I noticed that he looks good in a shirt. Same as my doc, he's not tall, say about 1.7m or give them another cm more? I think these guys really make a shirt look good, and vice versa. Guys who are tall & slim look like stick insects in shirt. Oh but wait, Nick, u looked good in a shirt as far as I can remember!

Next time i see another guy like this, will tk a pic w the phone since it makes peeping at ppl so discreet hee....

WHY PISS ME OFF EARLY IN THE MORNING??? U SPINELESS IDIOTS!!!!!!
always try to make me release fw before evaluation, and tell me it's exceptional caseS!!!!!
Bullshit, as if i'll believe u!

Fine la dont take my advice up to u! Give u all the buggy fw and let the creepy worms eat up ur fat bodies! Wanna die go ahead but dont come to me when u find probs...

ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!
