Not ready

The Geek spoke of holding a housewarming party next week, this morning. I brushed his suggestion aside pointing out the fact that he hasn't bought a sofa yet so we don't have big enough furniture for more than 2 people. It worked, at first and I heaved a sigh of relief.

He came back from a drinking party with his colleagues (my ex colleagues) and they were all saying they wanna self invite themselves over for a housewarming, and one of the guys is going to start organizing it. This is it, we ARE going to have a housewarming party, he said. And we ARE going to get a new sofa (and whatever's lacking) this weekend. He seems to have forgotten I just came home with boxes of useless decorative stuffs for the home, which is only less than half of what I was planning for.

It not just about the house, furniture, layout or decors. I was being conscious about what kinda food to serve these people. Yes, I've gained abit of confidence in cooking recently, and it's getting more fun than stressful. But I do not feel prepared to host a party for a group of drunkards.

Being the Japanese wife, you would say yes and make the impossible happen. Being the typical me, I would shrug it off as something I dont wanna put an effort to doing, yet (and if so, when?). But deep down in me, I feel that I could try to take up the challenge and give the Geek (and myself) to feel proud of what we have done for the home so far. Yes, we are very happy with it, we're just talking about it yesterday night, that this is a lovely place pretty much because of what we've worked on.

Among other things they (and my ex big boss) said, things I wish I got to hear earlier, or dont get to hear at all.

Hopefully, these are just drunkard talks.

Counting

Counting the days I've spent here...
Counting the things I'd wanted to do...
Counting the days I've spent fruitfully...

Having that lonely feeling again. I guess this time round, it's got nothing to do with my social life. The truth is that, no matter what I try to do here, I'll still miss everyone back home. It's just not replaceable. I can only try to bring myself away from those thoughts by doing other things, which works, but for a short time only. I have no idea what to do with this mentality, but maybe it's time to stop being stubborn and go back for a visit soon.

Finally got myself to submit the visa change application. This entire thing is such a pain in the ass, right from the forms we need to get from the various offices, filled up, translated, up till the procedures itself. I fumbled through most of it without much issues, save for this particular immigration officer, who insisted that this particular document I handed up wasnt enough (課税証明書 vs 納税証明書) and said I cannot go ahead with the application. She then said that I need to show proof that the embassy here doesnt issue any marriage cert... I mean come on, the marriage was registered here, in their own country, with all the proper certifications from Singapore showing I'm eligible for marriage here. We dont issue petty messages saying that we don't issue marriage certs conceded in your country. I asked her if that means I cant do anything about it today, and if my embassy doesnt have such a proof for her, I can never go ahead with it (was already on the verge of slapping her round and round), she refused to give any answer. Best of all, I later realized she was just probably trying to make things difficult, since she had already stamped the approval on the interview sheet. The officers before and after her took in my entire set of documents and said there's no problem with it. One even asked why there's some extra document (which the PMS-sy officer forced me to submit my original copy in).....

Felt like I was suffering from constipation recently, and took the pills. As expected, my tummy started to hurt like mad in the morning and I just felt like I was drifting away from my body. Still alive now, thankfully. Hope to never have to take it again.

買い物

Today, I went against my theory when doing some online shopping. How I normally behave is super 犯贱... What others go for (and normally go out of stock), I want it. And I wont go for the item if nobody wants it, even if I know it's good. No, I dont do it deliberately, but it's just deep down in me haha.... whenever i dont get what is out of stock (believing it's darn good), I'll nag at myself for not moving fast enough.

Just got a new bag to go along with the summer style and yukata, and finally, got a nice bag which is reasonably priced and looks good. The downside is (if you can even consider that a downside) that there isnt many people who bought it. Those who bought, and gave a review, wrote pretty decent/good stuffs about it.

Well, me.

Lines & Circles

Filling up forms in Japan/Japanese can prove to be a challenge to your patience. Small things like circling the correct fields or striking off the incorrect fields would deem if your forms get thrown out of the window.

Settling down pretty well I'm glad to say =) The apartment is feeling very much like a home, with us getting used to it (and it, to us)... with much more space to play around with, we can have alot more ideas as to what to add to make things more interesting. The next constraint is whether we want to stress the cash flow out like this haha...

Finally got my dream phone! Or well, it was my dream phone, until I realized it's not so fantastic. I'm not saying it's bad or anything.. I prob had too high expectations amidst the long way. Nonetheless, having fun customizing it!

Packages finally arrived. Guess it took much much longer coz they got stuck at the custom. One of the packages had a seal on it that says the custom opened it up for checking. Wells, at least I have my PC and bags here with me and I don't feel any deficiencies hee...

Looking at going on some short holiday, before I go bonkers. Hmmm thing is I can't travel out until I do get the spouse visa... and that's if I go back to my forms, like NOW!

Blogging

Hungry. It feels terrible when you have to wait for someone else to be back with you to have dinner, even though you're nearly starving.

Finally, a more 'real' entry from me. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind, so much so that I don't remember what I've done or what happened anymore. Have to resort to writing my daily activities down, and even then, I forget to do it at times. Maybe because of the lifestyle I'm leading now, I'm seriously losing track of time.

Well, we finally moved into the new place, which I'm pretty happy and settled down with. Better start on decorating the place, how we wanna do it up with stuffs and storage. Can never feel settled enough until I've got my clothes in their permenant homes.

Met up with DY and Ashley, whom I've met before at someone's wedding but we never kept in touch after that. It was quite funny when we both saw each other and went "I know her!". Ended up we hit off pretty well and poor DY was left aside, playing Bejeweled. Had quite an enjoyable time with these guys, it's seriously therapeutic to be using Singlish... If you get what I mean!

The MIL's been really nice. Think she was worried when she heard abt me feeling homesick, and told me that I can ask her out when she's having her off day. And even tried asking me out on a performance. Not my kind of things but thought appreciated. =)

It helped when the Geek suddenly decided on an impromptu trip to Kamakura. His sudden intentions usually leave me crazy but this time round, I guess it was what we really needed after all the house shifting frenzy.

I really wanna start things ASAP. Have I said before the PC's still not here?! Arggghh!
